Jami is called 'Seal of the Poets'—classical Persian poetry never reached such heights after him. He lived in Timurid Herat, known as the 'Florence of the East.' Jami wrote 46 books and was friends with Sultan Husayn Bayqara and Ali-Shir Nava'i.
