Bahar was Iran's last 'Malek-o-Shoara' (Poet Laureate)—a title given by Ahmad Shah Qajar. Born in Mashhad, he became a member of parliament. His 'Stylistics' remains the main reference for Persian prose history. Bahar wrote 'Dawn Bird,' which became the anthem of the Constitutional Movement.
