After several days of unrest, the people of Tehran took to the streets and brought Mohammad Reza Shah back to Iran. From the monarchist perspective, this day marked the people's victory over political crisis.

This day is narrated differently in various historiographies. It is referred to both as the 1953 coup and as a popular uprising. Mohammad Reza Shah, who had fled to Rome, returned to Iran after this event.
