Farah Diba was an architecture student in Paris when she met the Shah. She is the only queen in Iranian history to be crowned—the title "Shahbanu" was created especially for her. The Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art, built at her initiative, houses one of the most important modern art collections outside Europe and America.
