The Chogha Zanbil ziggurat (Dur Untash) became the first Iranian site inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

Fun Facts

Chogha Zanbil is the best-preserved ziggurat outside Mesopotamia. Built around 1250 BCE by King Untash-Napirisha of Elam, its Elamite name "Dur Untash" means "City of Untash."
