Sixth and holiest Gahambar (Feast of All Souls), held during the 5 Gatha days/Panje at year's end. Celebrates the creation of Humans, Ahura Mazda's sixth and highest creation, and honors the Fravashis (souls) of the departed.

Historical Context

The final five days of the year are called "Panje" or "Gathas" and each day is named after one of Zoroaster's Gathas. These days fall outside the twelve 30-day months.

Fun Facts

This gahambar is connected to Farvardigan and Nowruz. During these days, the Fravashis (souls) of the dead return to earth. Houses were cleaned and food was left out for the spirits.
